Reagan latched onto, and was the beginning of the anti-intellectual movement in the USA. He was famous for ejecting economists from government positions that didn’t agree with his Utopian “trickle Down” nonsense. The Federal Deficit exploded just as they said it would and American society entered the current progression of haves and have-nots.

Reagan was the friendly, grandfatherly face of the nascent anti-intellectual populism that now has fully exploded into the very ugly malignancy we now endure with the Trump Crime Family.

anti-intellectualism was always there, but the Sputnik scare had driven us back into the arms of science and education for more than two decades. But that shit costs money and a lot of whose scientists and professors were liberals…

And Reagan was the one who took the solar panels down from the White House and totally ignored the lessons of the 1973 Mideast Oil Crisis
