Perhaps the most spectacular marriage/collaboration in memory:

ARIEL DURANT, HISTORIAN IS DEAD; WROTE ‘THE STORY OF CIVILIZATION’

nytimes.com

Recounting her wedding day, Mrs. Durant said, “I roller-skated all the way down from Harlem to City Hall.”

(Full disclosure—Wife was 18 when we married, 19 a mother. It’s only been 47 years, so it could still go bad.)

There’s gotta be a typo in here:

Mrs. Durant had suffered a stroke some time ago. She was 83 years old.

The news of her death has been kept from Mr. Durant, who is 95 and was hospitalized in Los Angeles three weeks ago after surgery. The historians would have observed their 68th wedding anniversary on Saturday. She was 15 and he was 28 and her teacher at the Ferrer Modern School in New York, when they met, and married, in 1913.

1913 has to be a typo, if the rest of the dates are correct they were married in 1945.
