Driverless cabs may still be a long way off. A lot of people want them to be perfect, rather than better than human drivers, and that’s not possible.

I dunno: to me, that use of technology is inherently flawed. I can’t ever read about “driverless cabs” without thinking of the episode of the (short-lived, but decent) series Extant where they killed off Goran Visnjic’s character: when the Sinister Conspiracy locked him into a driverless cab, then stalled it on a railroad crossing in front of an oncoming train.
