To the teacher: The lesson is simple. Tell them to assume that they are in danger at every second they are dealing with a cop, to keep their hands in the air at all times, to kowtow and kiss ass as politely as possible. To do anything else is to court extrajudicial execution.

That assumes the police give you more than a split second to raise your hands before opening fire on you.
