Citing a debate he had with Alan Colmes several years ago, King used a hypothetical situation in which someone accidentally ran over their neighbor’s dog and then went and apologized.

In that act, King explained, the person at fault confesses, repents, and seeks forgiveness which, when received, leads to redemption … which proves that America is a Christian nation:
