This sign is on the roadway just south of the entrance to Central Christian Church in Mesa on Lindsay Road. It’s put there by Center for Arizona Policy. I don’t know if it’s on the right of way (I suspect not) or if it’s on church property or on the property of the park next door. What makes it difficult is the city and the church made an agreement about the church’s use of the park.

The sign may be perfectly legal, but it’s also completely obnoxious. I tweeted at the church and CAP (and then at Cathi Herrod, the Aunt Lydia who leads CAP) that I’d be out there with a sign tomorrow morning if this sign is not down. My sign is going to say something like “Jesus Didn’t Die For Right Wing Politics” and an arrow pointing down to the sign.

This angers me to no end.

Here’s the link to the IRS Tax-Exempt Complaint Form. Don’t know if would do any good, but if you spread it around, the IRS may receive too many to ignore. Others may have more information about the efficacy of this endeavor.
