The proprietor of the General Store here says he’s never seen anyone in town win as much in the state Lotto as I have. (I am actually ahead on winnings, though I am sure the grinding certainty of statistics will eventually reverse that. Last year I won several thousand dollars in the state lottery.)

While my wife does not encourage me to buy lottery tickets, she is not discouraging me either, as long as the win/loss ratio stays in the plus column.
