No wonder Trump is so exercised about this. He know this all looks super bad for him, regardless of his belief in a Deep State Witch Hunt and his eventual complete exoneration*. I expect a motion to delay the trial until the appeals have all played out in these cases, so that their final disposition is known and the jury isn’t unduly prejudiced by Fake News.

* = exoneration that isn’t coming; appeals only cure errors as a matter of law or process, and the judges in those cases were very careful to follow the book to a T. Appeals courts do not have the power, generally speaking, to overturn a verdict as found by the trier of fact, unless new evidence comes to light that merits a re-trial.
