Specific meaning: it’s from a horror/fantasy series where people can sacrifice the people they love to get a wish granted (but with an especially aggro version of Monkey Paw rules applying) by demonic things with god-like powers.

That brand is the mark of someone going to be sacrificed. The manga’s hero is someone branded but who survives (basically, impossible) and fights back.

So…massive fucking martyr/hero complex going on there.

Also I’m offended because I actually like the comic he’s citing.
