Now, in the event, that order may have been disobeyed; was it Milley or somebody that said they had no intention of supporting the coup? But it was definitely on the insurrectionists’ radar.

In fact, one of the main hopes of the coup plotters was for the Jan 6 mob to lead to enough civil disorder that Trump “would have no choice” but to call out the troops to “restore order”. The main reason this was averted was the wisdom of anti-Trump activists in not showing up for counter-demonstrations on Jan 6.
