Can’t start my truck in the cold. Trying to call the local bus service for a ride to work. Bleah.

If you have some basic tools…I know a sure fire way to get a gas engine going in the bitter cold.

Pull your plugs, clean them off, take them into the house and warm them up in the oven. Not hot, just warm…and dry.

Then put only half of them in the engine going with every other plug in the firing order.

Start the engine on half the plugs…it will be freer to turn and take less battery with less compression. Let the engine run a bit on half the plugs to get warmed up a bit.

Shut it off after a few minutes and then put the remaining plugs in. It should start up fine then and you can be on your way.

It works, and yes it can be a hassle, but if you gotta get somewhere it works.
