The recent conservative populism almost makes one nostalgic for some Romoney style real elitism. I mean this is populism where it’s a bad thing to be a Harvard grad, a professor of constitutional law, and live on the east coast or a big city.

Well, when they represent stupid people, their goal is to convince stupid people that it’s actually good to be stupid!
