Junji Ito is the guy I point people to when they need something to take the edge off the diabetically-sweet “moe” culture.

That’s like burning the edge entirely off with a blowtorch, getting 20 more blowtorches, burning the edge of everything until those burn out, and then throwing everyone you can into the abyss, where a bunch of people get eaten by spiral worms, a bunch more get eaten by zombie sharks with robot legs, and everyone else finds holes through the mountain that just happen to be perfectly sized for them…
