“Relatives of a 13-year-old girl who was declared brain dead after complications from a tonsillectomy were debating whether to accept the aid of nursing homes and outside groups that have proposed moving the child so she can be kept on life support, a family lawyer said Thursday.
One wonders if one of those “outside groups” is the surgeon’s malpractice carrier.
I mean, c’,mon, brain dead after a tonsillectomy?!
I read a Robin Cook novel many years ago, about otherwise healthy people who became brain-dead after routine procedures, who were then moved to a nursing home where they were kept on life support until their organs were purchased…
