Everyone above keep saying Ghengis Khan didn’t conquer Afghanistan, he controlled the majority of the country, including all its major cities at the time. The Mongolian control continued through his son and some of the ethnic groups consider themselves to be descendants.

They also directly or indirectly caused the destruction of a complex irrigation system that some say Afghanistan never really recovered from.
