I’m sure lots of people are surprised by Chuck being more amenable in person. He sets the bar so low with his stories and twitter feed that anything less than constantly screaming “shit-cock” in public comes off as comparatively reasonable behavior.

The thing is, anybody with a certain level of maturity or real world experience dealing with psychopaths sees the disparity itself as an enormous red flag. His interpersonal transmission only has two functioning gears, manipulation and abuse.

Unless someone is a very good actor and careful not to drop out of character, a toxic persona on the Internet reveals a lot about what might be buried deep beneath a person’s real world mask. Bryan J, Fischer, for example, has a lot of buried anger or revulsion about something, or he couldn’t constantly be such a hateful bigot online. As for CCJ, I was thinking more along the lines of an awkward nice guy persona at first meeting — the kind of guy who will cheerfully pose for joint selfies and ingratiate himself to certain people, but will turn on that same person in an instant if something goes even slightly wrong.

I’m sure his ex-college GF has a lot of tales to tell, if she were willing to risk his wrath again.
