Well, there’s that. There’s also those who wanted to break up all the big banks, jail CEOs and bankers regardless of whether they committed a crime and seem to believe that the President as left wing dictator would be just dandy.

Honestly, that’s my greatest fear. Republican voters are primed to elect the daddy candidate and increasingly don’t give a crap about stated conservative values, so an improved version of Trump on the left could conceivably capture a good chunk of them under the right circumstances while campaigning on a very left progressive platform.

Only if the improved version doesn’t support diversity. Republican voters really don’t support the stated economic policies of the Republican party nor the health policies of the party. They would happily vote for someone who wants to bring down the capitalist system, as long as it doesn’t benefit minorities or, for many of them, women.
