Oh, tied to the economy is the fact that we’re also experiencing higher energy costs, higher food costs, and cost of living increases all while wages aren’t keeping pace.
I think this might be a bigger factor than the current housing slump, to be honest. People are getting hit hard by basic cost-of-living costs and businesses aren’t able to pay enough to increase discretionary spending. There’s got to be some money injected into that cycle somewhere.
