An interesting point I don’t think anyone has made about the extent to which the American elite are above the law: Paul Manafort has, for years, been conspicuously spending money he’s kept in off-shore accounts without reporting it to the federal government, and the only reason he’s finally been called to account for it is because he joined the Trump Campaign.
