if there’s a parallel in this case, i’d go for ‘reckless’ not careless

Legally, “reckless” is basically the same as intentional. “Reckless disregard” basically means deliberately and unjustifiably taking a course of action while consciously disregarding any risks flowing from such action. The law does not look favorably upon those who act recklessly.
