They really do not understand what doctors mean when they say “comorbidity.” It does NOT mean that you were already dying of something and you just happened to catch a CV-19 infection on the way to the grave. It can mean either that you were already in a bad way and CV-19 just finished the job or that you had an underlying medical condition that made it harder for you to deal with the damage CV-19 inflicts upon your body.

They don’t care. They are just searching for any “scientific” excuse to downplay the COVID-19 numbers and effect. Trump and the GOP have tied themselves to this effort instead of even considering some sort of mea culpa and trying to do the right thing even at this late of a point. (Though the mea culpa could well be political suicide as well, but that’s also the difference between a politician and an actual leader or statesman.)
