On an earlier thread I mentioned I use to live in New Orleans and me and my husband used to escape as often as possible to the LA coast; camping fishing. Lived it, loved it!

What I didnt mention is that same very young husband was killed in August of 1976 in an oil refinery explosion, along with 12 others. They were welding inside a tank during a shutdown. An unmarked spigot for a line leading into the tank was wrongly identified by a worker as air, it was actually gas and it was turned on. As soon as the welding sparks it the gas…well you get the idea.

No jihadist, no ecoterrorism. An accident, caused by negligence. Thhis is personal for me. Not only because a place I love is in peril, but to know that others have lost their lives, probably due to more negligence by another oil company, makes me relive the whole thing.

I am so sorry for your loss and I apologize if anything I said caused you pain.
