Newsflash: I have just volunteered to make dinner for 13 on New Years Day. That includes 8 teenagers. Oh, and it will be served whenever they manage to get here on their way up from L.A. Can anyone say “lasagna?” (I knew you could!)

I’m fixing black-eyed peas ‘n’ ham and jalapeno corn muffins with honey butter. Traditional southern fare for luck on New Year’s Day. Not taking any unnecessary chances.
