Yeah, I use the Mac touch ID keyboard but that A.) has the same key feel that he hates and B.) the touch ID keyboard only works with M2 and M3 Macs and his iMac is M1.

It does work with the M1 iMac. I have one with a touch ID keyboard. I got the extended version with numeric keypad.
