This has been going on in IN for years now. Until recently the most common refrain from legislators/prosecutors was that it really wasn’t any big deal. It’s nice to see the Supreme Court step in and say the opposite. “The standards are off but the results are good” argument just got slapped upside the head.

Yeah, you just hope the sensible reaction will prevail and they will insist on tougher standards (after all the appeals are going to cost them more than if they just did the science right in the first place). Science is still a fantastic tool for helping determine a person’s guilt or innocence.
