I’ve never been to FL. But I lived in Houston for 6 years, and my moms side of the family is from New Orleans. Houston would be New Orleans if there were no New Orleans.

I lived in Dallas for 10 years too, and, granted, it was warm, but warm like Dallas along with humid like Lake Michigan, just too much for me.

you pretty much described it here. Humidity 100% without rain. 100 plus temps, snakes, huge palmetto bugs (roaches, like this long) :
