Jonathan Capehart on Lawrence O’Donnel’s show said as a Black man he heard three dog whistles in DeSantis’ comments.

#1 was “articulate” meaning surprised Gillum speaks so well for a Black guy.

#2 was “he performed well” meaning Blacks are good for a show.

#3 of course was using “monkeying.”

Pretty thorough look by a Black man. I admit, I didn’t catch the “perform well” and I have heard about “articulate” before.
