Wil Wheaton’s remark is what bothers me most. If Wilson had not been a cop, there would have likely been an indictment and the case would have gone to trial. But an officer was involved, and the de facto approach in most of this cases is to assume the cop’s testimony is more reliable than anyone else’s, because he’s the cop.
