The thought I can’t finish being: this is an individual outcropping of a cultural phenomenon. It resembles clinical paranoia, even paranoid schizophrenia, because of the specific culture’s epistemology, style of reasoning, and their chosen set of images and icons.

What we are watching is people acting in a manner coherent with a worldview and its value system. The ones escalating faster to violence and picking more extreme forms of violence may be fucked in the head, but they differ in sociopathy-versus-empathy score, not in cognitive distortion or emotional disregulation.
