Come to think of it, Samuel Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” would probably fit the bill-the Russian’s consider him to be America’s Tchaikovsky. Too bad he was “teh gay” for the current crop of the dominionist camp of the GOP.

I guess that excludes Copland as well…
