“Deep State” has come to have a sinister meaning but it overlooks the fact that a modern government needs career specialists whose tasks and responsibilities extend beyond any one administration.

They have to maintain institutions and projects that are vital to America, and do so over the course of deades which means they cannot just be switched out at random whenever the political weathervane shifts.

Deep state is just their code word for the government institutions that are not military or police: everything else is a waste of their tax dollars.They have no time for public schools, libraries, parks, lands, Environmental or safety standards bodies, arts, science or any others & would like to burn them all down.
