The tripod makes a huge difference in shots like this. It’s almost impossible to get it this sharp holding the camera in your hands. The wireless shutter release also helps, because pressing the button almost always causes some movement.

Have you ever tried setting the tripod-mounted camera on two-second autotimer mode, rather than using the wireless shutter release?

I ask because I don’t have a wireless shutter release, and I’d like to get away with not buying one if I can.
