It’s weird that even against the horrific backdrop of the Holocaust, exaggeration occurs.

While we’re on the topic of exaggerations, I would advise to steer clear of scrapbookpages website. I’ve corresponded with its owner several times since 2004 and she seems to be a closet “revisionist” who pimps all these exaggerations on her site (while also quoting the Leuchter report and whatnot). It is seen as a respectable site for some reason, used all over Wikipedia, but here’s an example of what the webmaster wrote to one denier (scroll to the middle):
