The weather radio popped off earlier: An ice dam has formed across the North Platte River just east of Lewellen in Garden County. The river is backing up. There might be minor flooding moving up my way, but the village is a mile from the river on the side slopes of the Nebraska Sandhills. The only village infrastructure that could be impacted would be the Co-op and the sewage lagoons (the lagoons have never been flooded since we moved here, but I’m told that has happened in the past).
