Sanctity of Marriage rally today drew vocal supporters of biblically-defined marriage

Dr. Tom Ford, a spokesperson for Alabama For Marriage, traveled from Montgomery with members of his family.

“Marriage is between a man and a woman,” said Ford. “To call it anything else is to call a circle a square.”

He said one problem was that Christians themselves have been desecrating the institution of marriage and turning away from traditional gender roles and gender identity.

“We’re equal, but we’re not the same,” he said.

“If we want to see our nation blessed, we have to obey God and do what’s right in his eyes,” said Ford’s daughter, Maggie, 17, who attended the rally.
