I blame him for the power vacuum he created by removing Saddam from power, a vacuum that Iran seems to be gleefully exploiting.

The problem was not so much removing Saddam from power, as not judging what other problems his absence would create. There doesn’t seem to have been a real game plan past, “Take Saddam out.”
