Actually, they simply don’t have the power. The Napoleonic steps they would have to take to put down the riots abruptly are outside the circle of what Britain does. Of what Britain is.

Britain is not Syria.

I’m trusting what I’m reading from various sources in the UK, but it seems like the majority of the law abiding citizens would support at least rubber bullets and arrests at this point…
