I live in Idaho (Twin Falls to be exact) and while I own a variety of firearms, I don’t feel the need to carry, either openly or concealed. IMHO, doing so is just asking for problems. The only exception to this is when I am out hiking . Rattlesnakes are a problem and being able to dispatch one must be an option.
Maybe it’s just me but I can’t help wondering:
If you need the gun to defend yourself from a rattler, something’s wrong. You’re more likely to shoot yourself in the foot than hit the rattler. I think that most people just step (or jump) backwards.
