I don’t think that going to the beach is all that dangerous. For instance, this risk estimator puts it at a 5 on a 1-9 scale.

if people take reasonable precautions, I would agree ,but the photos I’ve seen of beaches have people packed in so much you can barely see the sand.
not to mention lots of alcohol…
