How about thinking of the merchants, likely Mom and Pop businesses who have stretched to buy that inventory and depend on the sale of it at a reasonable profit to make a living. There are people behind those windows being smashed and in the homes being burned. This isn’t just about stuff.

I agree with you.

But we can count on the focus being on material crap e.g. burnt-down buildings, inventories, stolen television sets, and not people getting hurt, injured, families lost, people missing, perhaps killed. I’m laughing at the mentality that focuses on things and property, and so called “law and order” in the service of things and property. But actually, I find it quite disgusting.
