You have to respect a curse that curses separately for falling asleep and sleeping.

But for my Catholic-hating friends out there - this kind of thing goes back way before the founding of the Church. In fact if you look up defixio, defixiones you’ll find that people were practicing the same kind of thing against me and Charles’s ancestors before Jesus ever walked the earth! There is no such actual rite of excommunication. Lawrence Sterne made the whole thing up as a literary exercise and in part to defame the Church of Rome. Malus mendax.
