I think the D.C. crowd is not motivated so much by money, but by Power. If they were truly driven purely by money, things would work much better IMHO.

But money is power! If the Money Boys fund your opponent, your position is at risk. They can accuse you in attack ads of blatant public mastication and piscatorial tendencies!
