I have an (ancient, but its total lack of internet connection is why I keep it — no distractions!) ereader, and ereader apps, Kindle, Google, etc. on my phone and tablet — but I still prefer printed books. Somehow, the screen feels like too narrow a window into the book compared to the print edition. I keep hoping I’ll get used to it.

I thought I’d have a hard time getting used to a Kindle since I love real books, but I prefer the Kindle now because I can read it much more easily. If the print is too small for comfort, I can change the size of the font. Even with bifocals or reading glasses, books are more uncomfortable for me. It had gotten to the point where I was checking out books from the large print section…which in a way was good, because for some reason the brand-new books weren’t always out of stock.
