The resistance to “lol” and “rotfl” is from long before you ever showed up. We had several authors and professional writers of various types here. They were absolutely vicious when it came to any sort of internet slang. No lol, no :), nada. To be honest, I liked the emphasis on correct spelling, grammer, composition. I know it forced me to put more time into each post. Anyways, a few posters leave/get banned, new ones like Varek and WUB show up with their various internet lingos and it more or less becomes accepted. Except that the old timers will still complain. That’s not particular to you, although I can see why you might have thought it was.
