I don’t think the food and bottled water is going to the red cross but there are food banks and other places that can make good use of such donations. Both Obama and Mitt have encouraged monetary donations to the red cross. There’s nothing outrageous going on here.

It’s a photo op showing someone who gives a shit, which Romney does not. It is no different than Ryan photo opping a soup kitchen. It’s pretty on the outside and hollow and shallow inside.
