And this is the major problem with term limits. It’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” problem.

The only answer that works is an informed active citizenry. All the other “external fixes”, whether they be term limits or balanced budget amendments etc. etc. etc., are simply proof that we, as a nation, don’t have what it takes to be a democratic republic.
