As much as I hate [most] remakes, Logan’s Run would be a film well suited for a remake IMO.

I feel like, in the midst of a gerontocracy and an aging crisis that amounts to the same “drain the young for value” expressed either as an avarice for literal immortality or as a gritted-teeth despair of escaping precarity during decline, that it might not hit the same.

“Carousel” is quaint and even a little comforting compared to your health insurance deciding you just can’t afford the pills that keep you living.
