That graph doesn’t even speak to what percentage of the budget goes where, so I’m not sure what you mean about the graph not lining up with reality. Could you clarify?

That graph showed their projections for this year based on their beliefs from just a few years ago and it’s off, badly. The belief that if we ignore the debt problem eventually it will go away is flawed. Even if we raise the debt limit and enact the ryan plan in it’s totality we’ll still be up against the debt ceiling within a couple years at max.
