Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. I guess people really need a fairy tale wedding to take their mind off events that are truly more important or relevant or immediate in their impact on their lives. Personally, I take the Monty Python view on the monarchy. They’re just the ones who are dressed who don’t have crap on them… and some wet tart gave ‘em a sword to bestow upon ‘em rights that no one else has.

Think I saw one or two pictures at the BBC News site. I personally could give a rats tiny little ass about that wedding. More accurately, this wedding could in no way shape or form take my mind off things. Not even the BS farce going on Libya can accomplish that. But, they can have their “royal” wedding.

Funny you know that the world, including the USA, would celebrate a “royal” wedding since a monarchy technically represents a dictatorial kingdom. It is what the USA effectively fought against during the revolutionary war. It also represents colonialism. The saving grave though is that it is now largely a costume show.

Weren’t they rioting in the streets of London over budget cuts several months ago? But they find money to hold this bash?
