True. So part of the problem really is that the mainstream left should be protesting, but instead are ceding the stage to the nutty. It’s a rough situation. I thought the Wisconsin protests in the main helped people engage with issues facing unions, I think it did long-term good.

A large part of the problem has been the complacency of the mainstream left, or the cowedness of it, whichever version you believe.
